ROADWAY MISHAP POSITIONING AND SMART TRAFFIC REGULATION WITH ADVANCED RADIO DATA STREAMING

Presently, traffic has increased with over-speeding and rash driving predominantly causing accidents. In this project, the concept of an Automatic Crash Notification is discussed. A message will be sent to a traveling ambulance or a nearby hospital, after an accident happens. Upon reception of this message, the ambulance will reach the accident site.
When an accident occurs, an inbuilt intelligence system in the afflicted vehicle is activated and it automatically sends select details of the accident to the appropriate emergency handler for response using GPS(Global Positioning System). The vehicle’s position is sent to a rescue team using GSM(Global System for Mobile Communication). In addition, while the ambulance goes for rescuing patients special RFID tags are attached to the emergency vehicles to allow the ambulance to pass through without hindrance as the RF transmitter transmits a separate message to an approaching traffic signal. This traffic post, upon receiving the signal, processes it and green light’s the ambulance’s direction while turning all the lights on the other sides, red.
A LCD board on the traffic post also displays this emergency and informs other vehicles on other signals that they should halt. An individual lane is provided for the Ambulance with the other vehicles transferred to a different lane. Thus, the ambulance will reach emergency spots easily, even during peak traffic hours..
